Costa dei Borghi – Riviera Fermana: between the sea and Sibilla

Costa dei Borghi Riviera fermana

“Costa dei Borghi – Riviera Fermana: Between the sea and Sibilla” is a new tourist identity born from the strategic union of six coastal municipalities in the Province of Fermo: Altidona, Campofilone, Fermo, Pedaso, Porto San Giorgio, and Porto Sant’Elpidio. This territorial brand is the result of a shared process aimed at promoting the area in a unified way, going beyond the isolated promotion of each municipality.

The main goal is to strengthen the visibility of the Fermano coastline as a unique and recognizable destination, offering an integrated tourism experience that combines seaside activities with the cultural and natural richness of the inland areas. The aim is to create an ideal connection between the Adriatic Sea and the historic villages stretching up to the Sibillini Mountains.

With this promotional video we produced, we hope to help promote Costa dei Borghi and the beauty of the Fermo area, and we hope you enjoy it.

The new image seeks to go beyond the traditional vision focused exclusively on summer tourism, offering instead a broader proposal that embraces well-being, nature, craftsmanship, local culture, and gastronomy, with the aim of attracting visitors interested in experiential and slow tourism.

Special attention is given to European markets—such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands—and to seasonal adjustment, promoting the area during less crowded times of the year and appealing to families, couples, senior travelers, and organized groups.

The brand’s definition is the outcome of a participatory process that actively involved local administrations, tourism operators, and citizens through meetings, workshops, and consultations. It was developed as part of the “Soft Blue Fermano” urban strategy, supported by the regional program Cantiere Turismo and funded through POR FESR Marche 2021–2027.

The entire project was led by a team of experts in destination management and territorial marketing, with the goal of building a shared identity capable of best representing and narrating the uniqueness of the Fermo area — understood as a harmonious mosaic of landscapes, villages, traditions, and innovation.

The Marche region is located in central Italy, facing the Adriatic Sea on the east coast of the country. It borders Emilia-Romagna and the Republic of San Marino to the north, Tuscany and Umbria to the west, Abruzzo and Lazio to the south, and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Known for its rolling hills, medieval villages, and stunning coastline, the region represents one of Italy’s most authentic and diverse destinations, where sea, mountains, and culture coexist in perfect balance.

The Marche region offers an extraordinary culinary heritage that reflects the meeting of sea and land. Along the coast, visitors can enjoy fresh Adriatic seafood, such as brodetto all’anconetana (a traditional fish stew) and frittura di paranza (mixed fried fish). Moving inland, the flavors shift toward rustic dishes like homemade pasta, vincisgrassi (a rich lasagna typical of the Marche), and local cured meats.

The area is also famous for its olive all’ascolana—stuffed and fried olives—fine extra virgin olive oils, and excellent DOC wines such as Falerio, Rosso Piceno, and Pecorino. Every village and town offers unique specialties tied to local traditions and seasonal ingredients, making gastronomy one of the most authentic ways to discover and experience the true spirit of the Riviera Fermana.
